Five Minute Hospital Ad ---

In March- April 2013, I had done the shooting for the advertisement of this corporate hospital. It was a very entertaining and exhilarating experience for me. The whole story will write sometime later but now enjoy this Ad. Do not forget to smile after watching it .

The Reaction

Recently I got my mobile repaired. It was out of order from long. Today, I was watching all the photos of media gallery of the mobile. At one photo, my eyes stopped for a while. Oh! I had taken her photo that day .Her photo reminded me the whole incident that took place last year in July or August.


It was afternoon and after having lunch from a restaurant at Hyderguda, I was waiting for bus to reach Rajendra Nagar. The bus stop is nearby traffic signal and I along with some passengers, was waiting for bus at road side. I saw a handicapped lady beggar was pestering all the passengers for alms. Her left leg was amputated from below the knee and she was dragging herself to reach the passengers. That day temperature was very high and passengers were quite uncomfortable standing in scorching sunlight. In addition to that, the beggar was nothing but a pest to them. Most of them were either scolding or avoiding her. Without bothering the treatments of the passengers, she kept on importuning for alms. I went under the shade of a shop to avoid sunlight and from there I was watching the whole happening.

I saw, suddenly a car came on the pavement from the back street. As everybody was watching main road traffic, this sudden arrival of the car surprised them. Some of the passengers took one or two step back to give the way for car to go. The lady beggar, too, dragged herself towards the shop to   avoid accident but unfortunately her amputated limb came under the wheel. The wheel came over the tip of the amputated limb and she cried loudly. Hearing her cry, the driver immediately stopped the car and came out of it. In fact, he was not the driver but the owner of the car. After getting down the car without bothering her pain he profusely abused the lady beggar and commanded her to sit at the last edge of the road. The lady beggar was writhing in pain and holding the amputated limb on the hands, she was vigorously blowing winds from her mouth on it. She must have been feeling burning sensation on the limbs. I immediately noted down the number of the car, thinking that it may require if she complains to police. It was completely car owner’s mistakes. He came on the road from the street suddenly, without making any sound or honking the horn. Meanwhile all the passengers gathered around the lady beggar. The car owner was feeling an unsaid pressure from the passengers. Thankfully, the lady beggar got only some bruises on the limbs. As wheel was on the limbs, it put tremendous pressure on the nerve system, so she was feeling burning sensations otherwise it was not so big injury. Giving a disdain look, the car owner took some money from the purse and tried to give that to the lady beggar. She refused. He again added some more money and then tried to give her, but without uttering a word, she gave the car owner a very stern look. He could not stand it. Keeping money in the pocket, he again abused her. Then, he sat on the car and sped off. Seeing him leaving, the lady beggar dragged herself and anyhow picked up two stones that was nearby her and vigorously threw at the car. I could not resist smiling. Who says—revolution cannot take place in our country! Meanwhile a bus came and most of the passenger got on that bus. Two- three labor looking passengers were with her. One passenger brought banana for her; other gave her twenty or thirty rupees. I went to nearby medical shop and brought handiplast, detol & bandage for her.

It is almost more than one year passed but still I am unable to forget the accident, the uncouth and unsympathetic behavior of the car owner and the reaction of the handicapped lady beggar.

Nonsense Talk - X - कल्चर 'सरवाद ' का .

कल्चर 'सरवाद ' का .

तीन साल पहले की बात है .'उड़ान ' देखकर जब मैं अपने मित्र के साथ सिनेमा हॉल से निकला तो देखा मित्र उदास है .पूछा - तो टाल गया . फिर पूछा - तो बोला - डर लगता है यार , फिल्म की तरह मेरा बाप भी यह न कह दे की कल से मुझे ' सर ' बोलो . मैं हँसा . मैं चाचा जी को अच्छे तरीके से जानता हूँ . निहायत ही शरीफ और शांत किसम के आदमी हैं . हाँ , कभी कभी मेरे ग्रेजुएट लेकिन बेरोजगार मित्र पर जरुर भड़क जाते हैं . उन्हें लगता है वो धीरे धीरे निकम्मा होता जा रहा है .लेकिन को अपने को 'सर ' कहलवायेंगे - ना ना - ऐसा तो नहीं होना चाहिए .
मुझे हँसता  देखकर मित्र भड़क गया - हँस ले बेटा - . मुझे लगने लगा है की आजकल मैं नौकर हो गया हूँ घर का . मुफ्त का ड्राईवर हो गया हूँ . ऑफिस लाना , पहुँचाना . सच कहता हूँ अगर अगर मेरे बाप ने ये फिल्म देख लिया तो मुझसे अपने को 'सर ' कहलवाके ही छोड़ेगा . फिल्म देख देख कर बुड्ढे का दिमाग ख़राब हो रहा है . मुझे याद आया . पिछली बार चाचा जी ने ' बागबान ' देखा था और उसके बाद से उनकी प्रीति चाची जी के लिए दुगुनी हो गई थी . इसमें घाटा बेचारे मेरे मित्र को हुआ था - उसकी पाकेट मनी आधी कर दी गयी थी .

लेकिन 'सर ' कहने में दिक्कत ही क्या है - मैंने चुटकी ली .

वो भड़क गया - कहने लगा - सच कहूँ तो 'सर ' कोई सम्मानजनक शब्द है ही नहीं . ये शोषक समाज के संबोधन के लिए बना है जिसे शोषित इस्तेमाल करते हैं अपने आकाओं के इगो सेटिसफेक्सन के लिए . मुझे डर लगता है की बेरोजगारी के चलते बाप बेटे का रिश्ता कहीं शोषक -शोषित में ना बदल जाए.

मुझे कहीं से भी मेरा मित्र शोषित नजर नहीं आ रहा था . चाचा जी के गुस्से वाले क्षण में ( जो यदा कदा ही आता था ) वो पारासाईट जरुर था , लेकिन नॉर्मली वो उनका दुलारा ही था . खैर , मैं अपने इस मित्र से बहस करने की गलती कभी नहीं करता जब वो अपने रॊ में हो . अब मेरे मित्र का सारा गुस्सा 'सर ' शब्द पर आ गया था . 'सर ' सोसाइटी को हेरारकी में बांटता है . ये शब्द सोशल जस्टिस के लिए भी खतरा है . वगैरह - वगैरह.

उस मुलाकात के कुछ दिनों बाद पता चला की मेरे मित्र ने रेलवे ज्वाइन कर लिया है . काफी खुशी हुई , चलो अच्छा हुआ .

दो महीने पहले जब मेरे मित्र ने  फ़ोन पर 'सर ' कहकर संबोधित किया तो मैं जरा चौंका .

" कैसे हैं सर " - मेरे मित्र की ही आवाज थी . ऐसा लग रहा था मानो राग पीलू गा रहा हो .

"ठीक हूँ भाई "- मैंने जवाब दिया .

"और बताइए सर " - उसका अगला प्रश्न था .

मुझे झुंझलाहट हो रही थी . आश्चर्य हो रहा था . यही शख्स था जिसे 'सर ' शब्द से भारी चिढ थी और अभी फ़ोन पे 'सर सर ' किये जा रहा है .
पूछा , तो बोलने लगा - अरे सर , अब तो सुबह से लेकर शाम तक इतनी बार 'सर ' बोलता और सुनता हूँ की ये शब्द अब तालू से सट गया है . और तो और घर में भी 'सर ' ही सुनता हूँ .

मेरे कान खड़े हो गए . मैंने कहा मतलब  घर में ही शोषित शोषक वाला रिलेशन .

उसने चटकारे लेते हुए कहा - अरे नहीं सर , ऐसा नहीं है . पत्नी प्यार से 'सर' कहती है और हम 'मैडम '. 'सर -मैडम , मैडम -सर ' - ये शोषित शोषक वाला रिलेशन थोड़े ही है , ये तो रेस्पेक्ट दो , रेस्पेक्ट लो वाली बात है . मुझे तेलगु कॉमेडियन ब्रह्मानंदम के फेमस डायलाग 'गीव रेस्पेक्ट , टेक रेस्पेक्ट ' की याद आ गयी .

उस दिन मुझे लगा की 'सर ' शब्द की स्वीकार्यता समाज में तेजी से बढ रही है . वो जमाना गया , जब 'सर ' सरकार बहादुर देती थी और 'सर ' से सर टाइप के लोग चिपके रहते थे . जब 'सर ' लोग दुखी हो जाते थे तो सरकार बहादुर को कभी कभी 'सर ' उपाधि लौटा देते थे . अब इस लोकतंत्र में 'सर' की उपाधि पाना मोबाइल के कनेक्शन पाने से भी आसान और सस्ता है . आप से काम पड़े तो 'सर ',  काम  निपटाना हो तो 'सर ', बड़े हो तो 'सर ', छोटे हो तो 'सर ' , अच्छे हो तो 'सर ' , बुरे हो तो भी 'सर ' . फिर जब आपका काम निकल जाए तो आप बिना नोटिस के भी सर को  'सर ' संबोधन से निकाल सकते है .

सचिवालय के चपरासी साधो जी को मैं जानता हूँ . वो ऑफिस में बहुत हैरान परेशान रहते है . कहते हैं - जब भी कोई ऑफिस आता है साहब से मिलने तो हमें भी 'सर ' कहता है , लेकिन साहब से मिलने के बाद हम फिर चपरासी हो जाते हैं . मिलने से पहले तक 'सर ' रहते है   मिलने के बाद 'सर '  टाइटल छिन जाता है .

मैंने पूछा - " फिर  आप कैसे निपटते हो "

उसने मुस्कुराते हुए कहा - " सिंपल है जी . जो जितना ज्यादा 'सर ' बोलता है , उससे उतना गुणा दस रुपया बढ़ा के मांगता हूँ साहब से मिलवाने के लिए ."

मैंने आश्चर्य से कहा - 'सर ' बोलने की सजा .

वो मुस्कुराते हुए बोला - " अरे नहीं  नहीं . 'सर ' की उपाधि से बाद में हटाने का हर्जाना ".

खैर ... अब कोई सामान्य नहीं है , सब 'सर ' है . आप 'सर ' है , मैं 'सर ' हूँ . जो 'सर ' है वो तो 'सर ' हैं ही , उनके बच्चे भी 'सर ' है . नेता 'सर ' है , अफसर 'सर ' है . नौकर 'सर ' है , चाकर 'सर ' है . यह भारतीय लोकतंत्र के 'सरवाद' का समय है जो दूर से दिखता तो ' अवसरवाद ' की तरह है , लेकिन अवसरवाद से निहायत ही अलग है .'सरवाद ' में विनम्रता से काम निपटाने की धारणा  है , सम्मान देकर और सम्मानीय होने का भाव है . ये एक नए कल्चर की शुरुआत है जो बेहद अलग और मजेदार है .

Saluting the Soldiers

Why young men join defense? What is their ultimate goal?

To sacrifice the life --

yes, young men join defense to sacrifice their life. This is what the Panchayatraj Minister, Bihar Mr. Bhim singh Thinks.

Felt pain deep inside the heart after hearing the insensitive remarks of mister minister. Such rude and uncouth remarks show the attitude of a politician towards our martyr and soldiers / defense personnel. Defense personnel deserve better treatment and more respect from the society because they: -

Serve the nation

Every Individual, who contributes positively in the society, serves the nation. Every contribution counts in making a vibrant country but contribution of Defense personnel is supreme among all these. Defense personnel protect the nation from foreign aggression / encroachment; protect the sovereignty of the country. They undergo rigorous physical & mental training   and follow strict routine throughout their life so that they can give their best as and when situation demands.  They toll because they keep nation first in their priority list than anything else.

Fighting Spirit

Soldiers do not join the defense with the impression that they are going to be killed one day by the hand of enemy. They join the defense with positive attitude, to become the best solider and give their best on the duty. The ultimate goal for soldiers is not to sacrifice the life but to win the war. It is true that probability of losing life is high for a soldier but again who is completely free from risk / danger on this earth. Untimely death can happen to anybody and anywhere.  Soldiers are known for their fighting spirit even in odd conditions. The fighting spirit till the end makes soldiers different from others.

Prestige, Dignity

The main attraction of defense personnel is ‘Uniform’ and prestige and dignity attached to it. Being in uniform give them a happy and satisfied existence. Uniform gives a new dimension to their personality, a dignified appearance with greater efficacy. The pay & perk is not so good for defense personnel but pride they feel being the part of defense compensate the loss.  

Ek number ka paisa – Honest Money

The General sentiment of the public especially rural India (a large number of soldiers / defense personnel are from rural India) is that defense personnel earn honest money. When every department of our country is under question, each scheme is seen here with suspicion, defense barring from some high level arms / foreign deal, considered as an honest department. Defense personnel earn honest money and underpaid. The credibility and integrity of defense personnel is very high in the society. In many occasion defense personnel proved their integrity for the benefit of the society.

We become very critical when soldiers fail in their duty or do not follow the defense code of conduct but we do not register our protest when despite of the supreme sacrifice they get humiliating treatment from civil society, government and politicians.

We must respect our soldiers. They deserve more attention and honor from the civil society, Government and political class.

 

Nonsense Talk IX - Porn Discussion

Around two o’clock, Abhishek cartoonist sir shared his cartoon about Porn on Facebook. After reading the cartoon, I was shocked and surprised. How can a well known cartoonist, having good understanding of our society and democracy, has little regards for a celebrated topic like porn? Porn cannot be filthy in any respect for our society and country.  On these impulses, I immediately commented on the post. The comment was:  I do not think reading or watching porn is an unhealthy habit. It is as normal, healthy and entertaining as reading cartoon. After posting, I have not even read completely the comment; I received a phone call from one of my friends. He was very furious. Furious, because cartoon was compared with porn.  I was subdued as he was talking very loudly and his voice was echoing in my room. Lest my landlord get up in the wee hours, I requested him to come online. He added all the online friends in our chat for this so called controversial topic “Porn”.


Porn cannot be dirty. Those who say it obscene do not understand it at all – one of my friends who is middle level HR Manager in a firm wrote. He further added that “in fact porn makes you ‘Purn’ i.e. complete. When you are alone, forlorn, frustrated, alienated without any girlfriend or spurned by the girlfriend who comes in your rescue? It is porn that makes you complete in college campus. This completeness does not stop at college level but it goes beyond and helps you throughout your life. One study says that senior level married manager read more porn than their junior young unmarried subordinates.”

One young friend, who recently passed out engineering from a prestigious college, brought more light on this subject. He wrote “Sir, in our college whole intake used to read ‘pure porn material’- ‘Deshi’ as well as ‘Videshi’ without any discrimination. Of course girls were bit shy to download the material from college internet so generally they used to rely on us (we boys) for it.  In our college, PA of Principal had requested us to handover all the downloaded porn material to him so that it could pass on next batch. In his opinion, it would save a fortune (in terms of internet charge) to the college.”

One of my friends, son of a retired Major, currently preparing for UPSC examination expressed his views. He wrote “This is not the story of only one college. In each and every college hostel, lodge, defense billet/ barrack, officers’ mess, Porn material is ubiquitous.  In democracy majority prevails. Porn is the choice of majority. In our country like India, where majority of population is below thirty-five, porn material must be distributed free by the state.”

One of my friends, who recently joined a famous national party and regularly upload his neatly dressed photo on FB, contributed in the chat. He said “ Bhaiya, porn has entered in our parliament and state assembly too. Our young and old MPs and MLAs want to watch porn in recess.”

“But it is wrong. Those who were caught watching porn in assembly and parliament, they were charged and given punishment”- My friend who phoned me and initiated this debate, wrote.

“Oh! Watching and reading porn material in privacy is not a crime. This is a supreme court verdict”– it was UPSC aspirant.

Yes! - one of my friend who recently joined ministry and in  the good book of a powerful and dynamic minister, wrote -  “ In fact like napping cubicles of Japan parliament, there should be porn cubicles in our country. This japan model needs to be replicated in our country with some necessary modification. You know, I could have given this suggestion to minister sahib, but the oppositions and some nuisance monger will unnecessary make an issue in coming election. That’s why I am silent.” He completed with this.

Porn topic got good attention and well deserved discussion. I was truly enlightened by the discussion and it really reinforced my belief.

After the discussion I can firmly say that -

Yes! Porn makes our country ‘Purn’ i.e. complete, full, nothing else!
