Responses of the trainers Non-domain

Non- domain curriculum is the curriculum for soft skills, computer skills and English skills. The trainers are expected to enables the trainees to listen, speak and write in English about any situation in his/her daily life and prepare them to face an interview. The computer skills trainers are expected to enable the trainees to do basic word processing work, basic function of Excel, prepare PPT, Internet use and security awareness. The soft skills trainers are expected to cover topics effective communication, grooming, interpersonal skills, social interaction, group interaction, time management, resume preparation, interview preparation.
Three trainers of non-domain responded to the questionnaire sent by the MLM student. The MLM student also interacted with them few times to understand and analyze more about the delivery and effectiveness of training. Responses of the trainers Non-domain are given below -
       I.            Gender and Age-
The three non- domain trainers responded the questionnaire; out of them two were females and one male. The age group of non- domain trainers is 23-25 years.

    II.            Educational qualification of trainers:-
The educational qualification of one trainer is Master in Business Administration (Human Resources) and other two trainers’ educational qualification is Bachelor in Technology (Computer).

 III.            Work experience of trainers:-
The Work experience of the non-domain trainers is from one and half years to three years. One trainer has one and half years of imparting training in training institution whereas other two have two years and three years of training experience respectively.

IV.             What were the level of trainees in English, soft skills and computer when they joined the training programme?

According to soft skills and English trainer , when the trainees joined the training programme  that time the level of English knowledge of the trainees were very less as most of the students come from Telugu Medium background where their complete education is in Telugu . As most of the trainees are from rural areas, they had very little exposure to the outer world and formal sector. They were no so effective in their soft skills when they joined the programme.

According to computer trainers, trainees had below average to nil understanding / knowledge of computer. A good number of trainees first time used computer in the training centre.

   V.            What are the training aids and equipments do you use in imparting training?

The English and soft skills trainer uses white board and marker in class to discuss any topic in the classroom. In addition to this the trainer uses Power point presentation, Audio visual aids, Videos, Role play sessions, Group discussions, Just a Minute talk sessions for English skills.

While imparting soft skills the trainer gives emphasis on activities based training and experience sharing. Trainees are encouraged to be more interactive and participative in the classroom and they take part in group interaction, public speaking and mock situations where they have to use creative thinking and negotiation skills.

The computer skills trainers use Laptop
, projector, white board and marker and real-time training in computer lab with desktop as training aids. The trainers also use power point presentation (PPT) to make trainees understand visually which they connect through projector.  The trainers also show some videos of YouTube in classroom that help trainees in doing practical works. 

VI.            What is the participation level of trainees in classroom and other training activities?

According to English and soft skills trainer , when the trainees joined the course , that time most of them were reticent but the participation level of trainees gradually increase over the training period from reluctant to talk level to high participation in activities and to class room training.

According to Computer skills trainers, trainees are very interactive in the classroom. Generally, their participation level is very high in the classroom as well as practical classes.

VII.            In your observation, which training aid /equipment or combination of aids and equipments are more effective in trainees’ learning?

According to English and soft skills trainer , Experience sharing, Audio visual aids combined with role play and self learning the best combination to train the trainees.

The computer skills trainers feel that actively involving the trainees through activities boost their confidence, understanding and participation levels. Practical classes are more effective in trainees’ learning.

VIII.            How do you check the progress of the trainees?

The English and soft skills trainer Checks the progress of the trainees through surprise examinations, regular assessments, Presentations through them.
The computer skills trainers conduct weekly examinations of practical and theoretical.

IX.            If you find a trainee is not doing well, what strategy do you follow to motivate the trainee?

The English and soft skills trainer first tries to understand where the actual gap is coming  from and try to fill it through counseling the trainees and paying extra attention and care towards them.

The computer skills trainers make trainees to do practice more in computer lab, if they find trainees are not doing well in computer classes. They do revision of taught topics module wise to weak trainees in extra time.

   X.            How is trainees comfort level with you? Do they share their training related /personal problem with you?

According to English and soft skills trainer, the  comfort level of trainees are very high during the training period and also post training period .They build a strong relation  and share both personal and professional problems and sometimes ask advise / guidance on personal as well as professional matter .

The trainees share the training related problems to computer skills trainers.
 The trainers talk with trainee separately and explain them where they are lacking and conduct extra classes and repeat tests.

XI.            Are you satisfied with the progress of trainees?

The English and soft skills trainer feels happy to see the transformation of the trainees undergo during training period. The trainer is hopeful of successful career of trainees in job.

The computer skills trainers are satisfied with the progress of the trainees.

XII.            Do you think training duration for non-domain (English, soft skills, computer) is enough?

In three month trade certificate course the Allotted time for Computer skills is eighty hours, English skills is sixty hours and soft skills is twenty hours .
The non-domain trainers (English, soft skills, and computer) feel that the allotted time is sufficient to enable the trainees to learn basic functional aspects of the subjects.
